“A field filled with more than 12,000 solar panels sits just beyond Mount St. Mary’s Abbey McMahon House. The sisters of St. Mary’s Abbey unveiled the new solar project Saturday during an open house where a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held. . . Among those who attended was former U.S Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., state Sen. Richard Ross, R-Wrentham and Franklin Town Council Chairman Bob Vallee, who spoke at the ceremony. Ross thanked the sisters for being leaders in energy efficiency. “There’s a lot of firsts that happened in this region, and we thank you for being the first in energy,” Ross said.
