Boston – This summer, Wayland resident, Anna Wells, interned in the State House office of State Senator Richard Ross.
Anna has lived in Wayland for most of her life and has remained committed to her community and her academics as a high honor roll student, athlete, and passionate volunteer. Now a rising senior at Wayland High School, Anna is largely involved in a number of school sports including soccer, swim team, and track.
Anna also participates in Wayland High School’s Water Warriors program which offers free swimming and safety lessons to METCO students, grades 1 to 8.
“Anna is truly a dedicated individual eager to learn, ask questions, and challenge herself on a daily basis,” said Senator Ross. “It has been a pleasure to have Anna working in my office and alongside my staff. I am confident that she will continue to excel and make her community proud.”
Anna will be applying for college this fall and while her plans are still up in the air, her favorite schools are Dartmouth and UCLA and she hopes to major in the humanities, possibly History, International Relations, or Political Science.
Throughout the year, Senator Richard J. Ross hosts interns in his State House office from across the Norfolk, Bristol, and Middlesex District. The internship program allows for students to gain professional experience, listen to speakers from across Massachusetts government, and acquire a better understanding of matters impacting their hometown and the Commonwealth as a whole.
