Small Business Spotlight: Extended Family, Wayland

Small Business Spotlight: Extended Family, Wayland

January 19, 2017

This week I stopped by the office of Extended Family of Wayland, a home health care service owned by my constituents Michael and Victoria Abend. Extended Family’s mission is to help members age on their own terms by promoting independence, good health, and engagement in life. They offer in home services such as elder care advocacy, fitness and wellness programs, concierge services such as home maintenance, transportation and medical assistance, and around the clock care or hourly companionship.

With about 50 employees, Extended Family of Wayland is committed to top notch care coordination and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to any request the customer.  Extended Family believes that every person is different, so they start with an initial assessment of the individual’s strengths and weaknesses. Together they formulate a plan for living an ageless lifestyle. There are goals involved and a quarterly reassessment to adjust, celebrate and reaffirm progress.
